silverlake + caputo’s

These pictures are from Utah a few years ago.  We drove up big cottonwood canyon to Silverlake.  It is truly beautiful up there.  If you’re in Utah this is a really fun thing to do with your family.  Before we drove up there we stopped at Caputo’s and got food for a picnic. Looking back I realize how much nature has played a role in healing after child loss.  Hiking, skiing, the beach, nature is truly a place to gain perspective and heal.  Also, the importance of memories, it’s been difficult for me to go through old pictures but also very healing.

Yesterday was August’s and George’s 4th birthday.  I can’t believe it has been four years since the twins were born.  We miss August, words can’t really describe it.  So many of you reached out to me and my family yesterday, thank you.  Thank you for wishing August and George a happy birthday, it really meant so much to me, that you remember and are thinking about our entire family, including August. George kept singing happy birthday to August in heaven and everyone else, we don’t know how much he loved all the attention focused just on him, so cute!

I wish I knew exactly where August was and what he was doing yesterday.  Yesterday was a really beautiful day.  The weather was perfect and a lot of really great things fell into place.  I always wonder how much of what happens down here is touched by August, I think so much more than I can understand or imagine.  I can’t wait until we have all the answers to life, but in the meantime, I am trying to embrace the mysteries of life and live for August.  I hope that I can in some way make him proud in just trying to be my best self.  Through sincere kindness, being brave and having courage.

George had a great day. We got to go to a character dinner at Goofy’s kitchen.  The boys loved it and there was the cutest moment between one of the characters and George where he just kept hugging him and loving him.  George loved it, Grandma is here and I felt a lot of peace yesterday.  I hope my kids did too.  Thank you again for reaching out and all your kind words.  I am beyond grateful.

Love, Tiffany

These photos are pure magic. I grew up about twenty minutes from here, so I spent many happy Sunday afternoons here with my family. It’s a special place. Sounds like yesterday was a perfect day. I was thinking of you and your sweet boys!
